Damper for '94 12-V

I ordered a new damper for my '94 12-valve. The original was an 8-inch and was damaged in an accident. I ordered a replacement from Pure Diesel Power, their catalog called for a Cummins 3924435. The original has no part number. When the replacement arrived - etched with the part number above, I compared the two and the new unit is about 9.25 inches. Is this the correct part for this application. I'm pretty sure both are zero balanced and the larger radius is probably a better damper, but I want to make sure before running it.

It looks bigger, will the engine speed sensor still fit?

I don't see how it could fit. I haven't bolted it up yet (The engine is not installed in anything). I called PDP and they had no explanation except maybe I had an early production Gen 2 that may have a Gen 1 balancer. He asked for a Engine Serial Number to discuss with Cummins. The p/n I purchased is all they have listed for 94-98 12-V.

Just curious. Mine is an early 94 and has the same smallish damper. I have to think you would need a different mount for the sensor to make that work.

All of my 12v and 24v CTD's have the 9-1/4" damper on them. The slots on the ESS are pretty large, so I bet it would still fit.

The slots on the ESS bracket are slotted and do accomodate the new bigger damper. Guess I'm good to go. Thanks!
