Damper, Dampener, Dampner
Just to air a pet peeve of mine:
There's no such thing as a "dampner". It's also improper to say "dampener".
So that thing on the engine is a *vibration damper*, not dampener.
When you are adjusting your shocks, you are adjusting the "damping", not the "dampENing"
Know them and use them correctly.

It is located on the front of the crankshaft and is engineered to balance out the torsional twisting of the crankshaft while running throughout the designed speed range of the motor. The torsionals are referred to as the harmonics of a specific crankshaft and need a "harmonic balancer".

You need to watch what you say, its a ENGINE not a motor! Motors are electric, fluid-driven or air-driven I had to say that because of the damper/balancer thing.
I really don't care because I know what we are talking about!
