3gsk installed, now rpms are hanging

Not my truck, but my buddy just had a 3gsk installed and he said that the rpms hang in between shifts when he pushes the clutch in, they dont drop, they will hang at whatever rpm he shifts at for a couple of seconds. Hes got a 97 5speed with 0 plate and the pump has been timed. Anyone have any idea what might cause this, i dont know to much other then the basics of the p7100, thanks

did he adjust the idle after with the idle adjustment? Or just with the gsk? I think sometimes if u tighten the retainer nuts on the gsk to much then adjust the idle seperatly to the right speed it can mess up the rpms like that. The best is to not touch the idle adjustment, and get the gsk fine tuned to what ur idle was before. Not sure if thats the case here, but ask if he had to adjust the idle after he installed the gsk.

Sounds like the springs are a little tight.
Try backing them off a click and see if it gets better.

X2 Back em' off 1 click at a time till you don't have any hang up. I had the same problem and I backed off a click and was good.

Thanks for the help, he did not adjust the idle at all, and we have backed the springs off and tried many different adjustments, still no luck. Truck has 300,000 miles on it, maybe the pump is just tired, he is going to fool with it tomorrow and see if anything helps. Anymore ideas would be great, thanks

not sure how they were installed, they were installed professionally and where the springs are set at now was the least amount of RPM hang.
