3GSK installed
i've got a 96 12V. New to me. +200K miles.
i had this upgrade installed from hearing lots of very positive feedback. Well, its installed.
i am impressed but i guess i set the expectation bar too high.
Truck runs better, pulls and revs freely up past to ~3000K (i haven't revved it up past that).
I also had the fuel plate ground down to zero (?) that is the correct terminology?
My expectation was that the truck would be radically changed. It is bettter, without question. I guess from here, time to open up the wallet.
What would be the next upgrade from here....free upgrade or time to spend some $
any quick free upgrades i've missed?
Mods already done:
16.5 degree timing
MBRP 4" exhaust
boost elbow
AFE open/larger intake.
BD flex plate
BD valvebody
Mag Hytec deep dish tran pan

Did you slide the plate forward? Adjust the starwheel?
I know the Jessup tuned dually I drove had nothing more than a 4" exhaust, a plate and timing/pump tuning and it was almost scary for a heavy truck.

I think I can... I think...
I have a number 10 plate pushed forward a bit and star wheel adjust and it launches like a rocket. Oh I do have the waste gate blocked off. It's not recommended to block the gate and I certainly don't re3commend it either as there are better inexpensive options but I'm lazy and it's worked great like it is for about 180K miles.

If you don't already have them, gauges are a must for tuning. Pyro, fuel pressure and boost will let you know when everything is right vs over fueling. It is a balancing act.
You can also remove the fuel plate altogether, just be careful if towing.
