2500 to 3500 conversion COMPLETE!!!!!
It's now a done deal. I hope I am sure that I wanted a dually, because I now have one! Test drive to town and back was successful. We'll see how it handles 400 miles tomorrow pulling the horse trailer.
The conversion was not as difficult as I thought it would be, made things much easier that my truck was an 8800 GVWR truck, so the springs were the same as the 3500 donor truck. Just removed the dana 70, swapped in the 80, took 1 1/4 inches off the drive shaft. U joints were the right size, no yoke swapping, even the speed sensor from the newer 80 axles just plugged right in. And I'm really liking the better braking from the bigger shoes. Biggest pain in the but was bolting on the dually fenders....
Hope swapping in the 4 door 01 cab goes this smooth.

Alright, just no laughing at my two tone paint job.. A paint job is in the future, but front axle swap and quad cad swap after that, then paint. Now I gotta figure out how to post the pic..
