2500 to 3500 conversion

Anybody installed the extra OEM leaf spring(s?) for a 3500 in their 2500? Or is it better/cheaper to go with aftermarket overloads?

(hope this is the right forum, it's not really a performance & accessories topic since I'm mainly interesed in an OEM upgrade, right?)

Ditto on the airbags and swaybar too, if you need one. Craig

the problem is the overload spring bumpstops that are welded to the frame. I'm not sure if you could buy them from dodge, of course you could always make your own, or just use aftermarket springs. I used air bags and a leveling valve so it always rode at the same height reguardless of load.

it is possible to do this conversion, i did it on my truck. there are quite a few things that u need to consider and plan out in order to make this an easy swap.

with that said i would recommend using aftermarket airbags instead on 3500 overloads.

but, if u want to use the overloads just pm me i'll be happy to answer any questions u might have.

Thanks guys. Looking into Timbrens, seems like a cost effective easy way to go to essentially accomplish the same thing.

(Ok, so NOW it's an aftermarket thread!)
