#10 plate and stock clutch?

Is it possible to run a #10 plate with a stock clutch with 115,000 miles or will it slip too much? If so then how about a #11?

Re:#10 plate and stock clutch?

I couldn't run the stock clutch with my #10 plate. When I added the 370's, I could slip the clutch in 3rd through 5th gears.
You might get away with the #11 plate. But at 115,000 miles it might be time to replace the stocker anyways, might as well go for the SBC Con OFE. Smoother than stock and holds great.

I have a number 10 plate and 370's with a stock clutch. It worked for a while but it isn't by all means gonna last because mine too is now slipping 3rd through 5th.

Re:#10 plate and stock clutch?

I am running a #11 plate all the way foward the stock clutch with under 30,000 miles began slipping as 3rd through 5th (mostly 4th & 5th) as soon as I put it in. I haven't done any other mods except what's in my signature. I haven't even put a trailer on it and it will not hold. I am going with a South Bend Clutch as soon as the tax return comes. Drop them a line, they answer your questions quickly and will not try to sell you the most expensive clutch, they'll sell you the RIGHT clutch for your truck.

John
