1 more timing question

Anyone know what size and tread the bolts are that fit the timing gear holes? What is the distance between the two bolt holes in the timing gear? I am going to make a gear puller to use when setting timing.
Thanks

Re:1 more timing question

I'll get to mine next week hopefully, but I read somewhere that a steering wheel puller works best! Tony

Re:1 more timing question

When I did mine I used a cheap steering wwheel puller and it even had the right size and length bolts in it. It does take quite a bit of force to break everything loose so be prepared to scrape your knuckles a few times.
Tom

Re:1 more timing question

I have done one before with a borrowed puller. He made it himself. It was just a piece of 3/8" plate, cut round about 3" in diameter. It had two holes drilled in it to corespond with the pulley holes. You just ran the bolts through the holes with 3-4 washers under the head to allow them to spin easy and ran them up alternately with an air ratchet until the gear poped. Just wanted to know what the bolts needed to be.
Thanks

Re:1 more timing question

I don't know the size, but, I do know that they are quite close to 5/16". I just don't know if they are metric or not.
Tom
