Cummins Inc. does not recommend the use of waterless coolant (coolants containing no
water). These coolants have different heat transfer properties which can result in hotter
engine temperatures. High engine temperatures can thin lubricating oil and cause wear
issues. It can negatively affect gasket and seal materials.
According to this, the only concern about not adding water is possible higher running temps. I like it because if there is no change in operating temps, I'm golden...Mark P.S. I also notice the use of the non-specific term as "can" as opposed to "will". In my case, I can say definitively that it does not increase the operating temperatures of any of the liquid cooled vehicles that I have ever owned, including the Cummins. P,P,S. I hope that I didn't void the warranty on my truck...

I use the Zerex G-05 and distilled water. Have since 90,000 (when I got the truck) and now have almost 200K.
I had the radiator cleaned about 10K ago. It was all but stopped up. Not sure what the PO used.
In my Ford farm tractor we used to pop in a tablet for cavitation every so often but they don't make those anymore the dealer says.

You got me!!! I lied about "every" car I've ever owned, it is all except the VW. But, you can bet that when the warranty expires, she gets no water in whatever type of coolant it uses. Here in the desert, water is at a premium and I try to save every drop that I can. ...Mark

I have a strong preferene for Zerex G-05.
At times, you can buy this online for $11/gallon and free shipping if the order is $60.
Zerex G-05 is ph buffered and seems to stay netural(ph=7) for 3-4 years.

I was actually mistaken in my initial post. I did buy antifreeze at Napa. However, I found 2 empty jugs of what I used. It was Fleet Charge by Peak. Fully-formulated, ethylene glycol and SCA precharged. Specs indicate that it "meets or exceeds" the requirements of the most recent CES (Cummins Engineering Standard) 14603. As well as the earlier recommendation of ASTM D6210 and D4985.
