Valvoline Premium Blue Motor Oil

I have found a local Walmart that carries Valvoline Premium Blue 15w-40 oil for $20/case. Is this good oil to run in the CTD? Supposedly its recomended by Cummins. What would be the suggested mileage for its first oil change, currently at 1,300? So far no problems, just lots of worries about the dreaded lift pump....

Thanks

Re:Valvoline Premium Blue Motor Oil

Is this Premium Blue or Premium Blue 2000? The PB 2000 synthetic blend is being discontinued. Don't know about the straight Premium Blue. Now, the new PREMIUM BLUE EXTREME is a full synthetic made for our engines and is/was available a couple of weeks ago at NAPA for $16 a case (4 gallons). Cummins South has it for $18 a case. I've heard that other NAPA stores (not around GA) are $13 a case. That's almost too good to be true. If it's the straight Premium Blue, you can get better for less.

Its Premium Blue non-synthetic, $1.68/qt. Now if I can get Premium Blue Extreme, full synthetic, for $.88/qt (16 qt/case - 4 gal) thats an insane price. I will stockpile for changing to synthetic after 20,000 miles. Going to call my local Napa right now.

What oil would you recommend?

I run the valvoline Blue Walmart carries it for $20 a case.Check out Geno'sGarage.com for filters. Went to ******* for fuel filter price was $42.95 got it at Geno's for $12.95. They carry Fleetguard filters which is owned by CUMMIN'S. If I am wrong somebody correct me.

Re:Valvoline Premium Blue Motor Oil

Since the PB2000 semi synthetic is being discontinued and I can get the EXTREME synthetic for under $20, I will go with the synthetic. If I'm were staying with the non synthetic, DELO 400 or Rotella T is less expensive than $20 and I would go with that. I'll probably go with the Extreme. I have been using the PB2000 since my truck was new. I buy it and the Stratapore filters through Cummins South. Prices on filters are comparable to Geno's and since Cummins is close by, I do the walk in thing.

Re:Valvoline Premium Blue Motor Oil

Should I be concerned that I switched to a Full syn oil around 12,000 miles?
