Valvoline Premium Blue or Valvoline All Fleet

Not many miles ~8,000 on my truck. Today was the first time I had to buy oil for an oil change, the last time I had some older Delo 15-40 around.

Anyway went to my local farm store and all they had was Valvoline All Fleet 15-40?

Should I use it? Or take it back and find some Premium Blue or Delo or Rotella?

I paid $15 per gallon for the All Fleet, is that a good deal?

Sorry for starting another oil thread.

Took back the All Fleet and got some Premium Blue @ $13 a gallon. Thanks for the replies...

One more thing, the gallon ziploc to remove the oil filter...pure genious!

Don't know much about all fleet but I see Premium Blue for $12-$13 a gallon all the time. The older Delo (if it's CI+4) is really good stuff also.

It pays to talk to your local oil distributor. The last 12 cases of CI-4+ I bought with a TBN of 12 cost me $6.45 gal. I know where a pallet "32 cases" of Guardall QLT CI-4+ TBN 12 is for $10 gal. Shop arround a bit and save some money.

I have several "evil" quick lubes and a full general maintenance tire store. Our brand is Valvoline. They offer good, better and best in car oils and diesel oils. AF is the good, PB is the better and PB Extreme is the best. Extreme is a full synthetic. PB is a synthetic blend with a higher TBN than AF and more detergents to dissipate soot. That said, we sell a ton of AF because of the price point. It is an outstanding motor oil as are most other brands and I have many Cummins customers that have been using it for years with fine results. Hope that helps.
