48RE band adjustments
Approaching the 100K mile marker and would like to follow the Dodge maintenance guidelines. There is a line item at the 100K mark to get the bands adjusted for the 48RE. I know the adjusters are external and since I will be changing fluid/filter anyways, would like to knock this out. Anyone know the proceedures for this? Thanks,

I was having the 1-2 shifting problems so I replaced the governor sensor and solenoid but was afraid to do any band adjustments because my Haynes repair book only gives you part of the info to do the adjustments correctly (I just found this thread after doing the replacement work). I'm still having the 1-2 problem which started up again a few days later after the change out. Does anyone know if it will be fine if I just do the front band adjustment and not have to drop the pan again to do the rear band adjustment as well? B.T.W. I have the 48RE and 100% stock.

I just did the front a while back when mine started missing 2nd? gear. I have about 30k on the truck since then and its been fine. About to do both soon though. HTH

The two bands work completely independently of each other, so it would be completely fine to adjust only one. Also I've found over the years that the front band is way more likely to need adjustment on these trucks. It almost seems that they are sometimes set too loose at the factory as I have seen several that are very loose on the first transmission service, then they never seem to need another huge adjustment again. Just my observation.
