Question HELP.shutdown solenoid promblems with pictures

Well we have a 93 D250 with 518 auto. IT is a bone stock truck. Since we have purchased the truck it has never shut down with turning the key off...it just keeps running. So me being a nosey 14 year old read the stickies and saw that there is a shutdown solenoid on the side of the pump. Well around the solienoid i found a wire disconnected that was perfect length to go to the top of the solenoid and blue in color. So there is some kind of male tab missing from under the nut because i looked at our 91 NON i/c truck and there is a double male spade tab missing that the wire connects to...Why theres two when only one is used...I dont know...but Where can this tab thing be bought?? Is it typical hardware??
heres some pictures....... the first one is the wire. View all the pictures. thanks for any help from me and dad.

take a round wire lug and put a short peice of wire ( say 6 to 8 inchs) on it with a flat male spade plug on the other end and then hook it up keeps the engine viberations from makeing the connection loose again.

the pics dont show up

YES.

The little nut takes an 8mm wrench.

Put the ring-terminal under the nut.

Clean and re-squeeze the factory female-terminal and connect it to the new male-terminal.

This can be done with the solenoid still on the pump.

All of this will do absolutely nothing to make the engine shut off with the key.

There is a chunk missing from the rubber sealing tip of the solenoid, allowing fuel to pass through when the solenoid is shut off; UNLESS, the entire guts have been removed from the solenoid.

The best fix is to go ahead and "gut" the solenoid and install a "KILL-CABLE", connected to the manual shut-down lever.

Remove the fuel shut off valve and take a good look at it!

Mine has been giving me grief for about a month now. Yesterday it decided that it was not going to start until i got my tire iron out and had my buddy crank on it until it started.

Been putting it off long enough, got home and pulled the shut of valve out.

Vary happy to find the rubber tip was all intact. There however, was a vary rough spot on the large end of the plunger, just above the rubber tip.
The collar that slide up into the valve showed signs for wear also but felt smooth.
Sanded the rough spot with 400 sand paper until it was smooth. went to the sticky and tried to copy the pic's showed in there for reshaping the plunger. and reinstalled.
Shutting it off, was a little hit and miss for the first few times but has worked flawlessly(keeping fingers crossed) ever sence.

If you have never remove one with it in the vehicle, the old center punch and hammer trick work vary well!!!!!!!!!!

My suspicions are, due to the lack of any terminal being on the solenoid, that you will find your solenoid to already be "gutted".
