After market cooling fan..
Hey guys, is anyone running an after market single or duel cooling fan? I think Flex-a-lite is the most common brand.
In Oct. 08 diesel power under 35 fuel eco tips/tricks it states..
"It takes between 10 and 70 hp to drive a stock cooling fan. Replacing the engines mechanical fan with elictric cooling fans has been shown to increase hp and mpg cause the engine no longer has to spin the huge cooling fan all the time." Id imagine that not only would hp/mpg increase SLIGHTLY, but you also would gain back the 10-70 used to spin our stock fan on top of it.
It's normal to be in the 100 f zone for a few months here and with towing alot, I'm wonderin if this would be a good mod?
TIA
