'08 3500 Exhaust Brake Indicator Flashing
Exhaust Brake Indicator Flashing in instrument panel, not the button. Tow/Haul mode, boost is very low, acted like the VGT may have hung up, engine brake not very effective, boost very low, cycled E brake off boost improved but not normal. Shut down to re-fuel and it worked fine for 400 miles? Anyone seen this happen? 2 years and it's a 1st for me.

I would take it out for a good hard running with e-brake and tow/haul. Go on the freeway and take off ramps to manually down shift the trans and make the e-brake work real hard and have enough pressure to possibly blow out and clean up turbo. Might be getting ready for a manual turbo cleaning or new one. Hear similar issues like this frequently.

A common issue is for the VGT to get soot caked around them so they will not function properly this is why you want to keep the exhaust brake on at all times, keeps them moving and doesn't allow the soot to harden around them.
Sounds like at the very least you need to clean the turbo.

I believe there is a process and/or special proceedure to clean the Turbo. It involves a certain solvent and an access port on the turbo. Does not involve a disassemble or rebuild of the turbo.

It never did it again, after refueling I went on my trip, it's been fine ever since. I do use the EB always unless it's slick out, used to use it when towing.
