In hindsite I wish I had bought some new longer control arms, but that will have to wait for now. I am still hoping to get a new turbo, exhaust manifold and a 1 piece aluminum driveshaft in a few months or less.

Ball joints weren't to bad, maybe 20-30 minutes or less each to get out, once we got to that point. The axle ujoints were actually more of a bear. But the big bear was getting the old pitman arm off!!! Broke the pitman arm puller on one and stripped the other one. Had to heat it and cut on it to get it to let go. Hopefully this job won't have to be repeated for another 200K+ miles...

Yeah, it's been mighty quiet around here!

Did everyone have fun voting?

We're pretty busy in the shop with a stream of trucks through here for service and 2 big winter projects - started tearing the 6.7L White Lightning truck apart last month for next February's $50K Super Stock race in FL... we're doing some radical stuff to it.

I highly recommend attending the event for anyone who's able to make it - there's already 6 other guys from 4 states going there as part of TEAM XLR8R, but we always welcome more boots on the ground.
Sponsoring Lucus's truck with the $500 entry fee means LazarSmith has a booth to run & hobknobbing to do on top of shepherding a truck & driver through the quarter in excess of 10.49 E.T. @ 126 MPH (how do I know what it runs already? - because I aim to make sure we'll be required to have that 4-pt. rollbar we're fabbing for it!)
Anyway, the event rules virtually gaurantee a bunch of neat rides with innovative stuff & plenty of carnage - for a $25K 1st place, folks will tune on "kill".
This is the first diesel event of it's kind, so it'll be an historic occasion.

Also, we're planning a GTG here at the shop - just need some input as to when is best for y'all... beer & BBQ provided in thanks to those who've sent work our way.

Bradenton, FL - just a few miles away from where I was born (Tampa)... should still have kin there.
Pretty sure it's Feb. 26th, but I'll have to double-check.

Between T-day & Christmas is fine - should just throw myself a big B-Day Bash & invite y'all!

My December looks pretty loaded, so no use even trying to factor in my schedule.

Strawberries!
I want to bring back some hydro-stackers for next year's Victory Garden.

This year's Walmart-special produced enough for 3 and a half salads...
