DTR #8 September/October 2010 Thread
Well guys, I think the April 2010 thread has had enough! Let's put it out of it's misery. This has been a long hot miserable summer anyway with no time or money or diesel events....
Are we going to have a meet in October in regards to the NADM event on Oct. 9th? If nobody has anything planned I don't mind having another GTG at my house. MAYBE by then it won't be so blasted hot!!!

And Yipppeee........i think we might have a buyer for Jana's condo! We have an actual sales contract. I don't want to get to excited until we actually close on it.......but this is very encouraging. Now if we can just come up with the 15K WE will have to bring to closing! OMG what a beating we are taking in this market. Great time to be a buyer and horrible time to be a seller.

Anyone have any tips for lifting the front end to let the axle hang so I can swap out these springs? I'm guessing I'm going to need more blocks to put under my jack and jack stands, but open to any tips on spring replacement.
Going to replace the front shocks while I'm at it since I'll already be working in the area. Hopefully this will get the front end centered back up so I can have full left turns back.

With tires off and 6 ton stands under frame it was high enough to change my springs!
Just need floor Jack.... or Bottle Jack and blocks (two step raising process!
Still get up this way? Need Blocks? I cut up a railroad tie into 12" lengths and have several!
Assumed you can't have too many but have never used more than 2 at any one time!

Thanks RJ. I didn't factor the additional drop from pulling the wheel off into my plan.
I was just up that direction last weekend. If I had planned ahead on this project, I could have came by and picked up a couple. Hoping I'll get it done this weekend since I don't really have anything else on the calendar, but I'll know for sure by Monday.
EDIT: Well, my shocks just showed up, so that's no longer an excuse for not doing it.

If going with regular length springs, no problem, I think.
Come on up again, if you want? Can use my level, paved driveway.... or inside garage (for shade)
I have no plans either....except two small projects on my Jeep and cutting grass!
