Hey all long time no talk!

I have been working a lot of hours lately and have not checked in much.

Well the Dodge batteries finally died today when I tried to start her I guess not being plugged in and 20*F killed them. They are originals! So I think there 8 years of trouble free starting has been worth it.

I think I am going to put in some Wal-Mart batteries to get me by. I am itching real hard towards a new truck.

06-08 Mega Dually 4x4 Resistol truck is what I 'want' .

The Wal Marts around here never carry batteries big enough for my truck.

Well, it looks like it's time for another "bed lifting" party. I've got a leak on my fuel tank somewhere at the top of the drop-in module. It only leaks on a full tank, either when topping off or after driving far enough to get the fuel to slosh around. I saw it leaking Sunday after I filled up. Of course the entire top of the module had a coating of diesel and dirt, so tracking it down by sight is out unless I can get under there and clean it up a bit.

Any likely culprits? The supply and return lines appeared to be OK with no drops hanging on either of them. I was thinking that maybe it was at the fill neck, but that was all clean and dry. The wet area was only around the module.

Do you quit filling at the first "click" of the pump?
If I don't mine leaks also!
I shove the nozzle all the way in and pump on full speed so it kicks off when the airated fuel bubbles up in the filler neck.

Use to get another gallon+ after that. When I stopped with the full top off.... no more leak.

I always suspected the grommet that holds the fuel canister in. Canister went back in a lot easier than it came out.

No, I usually always run it until I get fuel in the neck. Never really noticed the leak before, but I generally only fill up before heading out on the road for a longer trip. So the level is down by the time I park. I saw a drip once before, but chalked it up to drip left over from filling. But on Sunday, I filled it up and drove a couple of miles back to the house and parked it. I saw it dripping when I got back to the truck.

Sure thing Justin I was around for one bed off project!

you gentlemen can have this COLD! the other day it didn't get above 26*F and it hasn't even started yet!!

I went to autozone 50 miles north of my town to get two yellow topped duralast gold series batteries. three year free replacement and 8 year prorated warranty. I could not spring for the optimas.

the roads around here are getting slick so I loaded the bed with about 1,000lbs. of cribbing or dunnage (sp.?) lumber. truck rides like a caddy!

You fellas enjoy the turkey day I am off to Sunny Las Vegas to try and thaw out!!

I've had great luck with those.
Had voltage checked at 2 yrs-10 months and one was a bit weak..... got two new free!
That was when I was averaging about 10 starts a day! Have never gotten more than 3 yrs from batteries using CTD as a daily driver.

Shop GTG is set for the 10th, 11th & 12th - come & go as you like, no drinking & driving allowed.

We'll have meat to grill & a keg, so anyone who hasn't yet RSVP'd go ahead so there'll be plenty to go around.
