DTR #8 September/October 2010 Thread
Well, I managed to cross another project off the list. I swapped out the front springs and shocks Saturday morning. Thanks to Rowland for the use of his driveway and some tools.
Once they were out, my original springs were just a little shorter than the OEM springs I got from Eli. So they helped out with getting the axle centered back up. It wasn't quite enough to get it all the way centered, but it is closer than before. Of course, in a rush to get things going, I had most of it apart before I remembered that I wanted to take some measurements to see the height difference before and after. So I don't have any actual numbers to show how much my old springs had sagged.
The nice surprise was how much better the Bilstein 5100 shocks (silver/black) perform over the Bilstein HDs (yellow/blue) that I had in there. The bumps and holes on 75 used to be a jarring hit on the front end, now they are just a gentle bump.

Anyone thinking about Bilstein 5100's, some grinding is needed on bottom mount bushings for 2nd gens at least; maybe for all Dodges.
Glad you see a big difference Justin, and I enjoyed it!
Four hands may not be 1/2 the time of 2, but it sure is more enjoyable to have some help ...... and an extra set of eyes to notice tools left under the hood.

Thanks for catching that! I would have been cussing the next time I opened that socket case and discovered the missing socket. On the way home, I actually thought you might have been right that I didn't tighten the clamp that the socket was on. It seemed like I had a little extra whistle in the turbo and thought the intake tube had come off (again). But it was tight, guess I was just imagining things.
Well we got a kick in the gut today. We had Jana's condo sold. The buyer was legit, putting 20 percent down, sales contract signed, home inspector came to check it out etc, our realtor working with hers...etc.....had a closing date set for Oct. 1st. Even working out a deal on some furniture. But she can't buy it now because something came up in Indiana (where she currently lives) and she can't move now.
I knew it was to good to be true.........even taking the bath on it we were. We want to move on with our financial lives! This nightmare just won't end!

It doesn't matter how fast it is. Just run in the ET class and you can still win if you run consistently. ETs in the 20s can win if they pick their time and run it.

Sounds like we can add Kurt (RV Pro) and 93-12smoke to the list.
Anybody else? El Presidente??? Ferd man Rob? Brian? Mike?
