Not sure on the internal differences, but the 5100s are the ones used with a leveling kit as they can support 0-2" inches of lift.

I remember the big difference when RJ put them on his truck, but chalked that up to the leveling kit. But after making a trip down to Giddings this weekend, I was really impressed. All the rough patches on 35 were softer bumps on the front end where they use to be a hard hit.

I picked them up from Shock Warehouse (www.shockwarehouse.com) with free shipping and used the discount code of TRAILVOY2010 for an extra 10% off.

Thanks. The Rancho's on Old red have gotten pretty bumpy.

And the extra travel in the Zinc coated 5100's couldn't hurt either.
To handle up to 3" lift it must have a longer internal cylinder.
Not sure how it helps standard height CTD's but maybe more gradual compression??

This is the part number I used on the front: F4-BE5-6681-H8

I didn't do the back shocks, I'm still running the old yellow/blue ones back there.

I wouldn't even waste your time installing it to be honest. I would maybe use it for something else like Engine Oil temp (Which is really needless as well) or Engine Coolant Temp. Those tranny really dont need to be monitored for heat.

If anybody here is considering Nitto Terra Grappler tires, you should reconsider, imo. I have 25K on mine and they are wore out. 1 in particular but the others aren't far behind. What a waste of money.

I got 50K out of a set of 285/70/17 BFG ATs. And 40K out of BFG KM2 Mud Terrains.

Im going to go ahead and get on the ball with the H2 wheels, get them expanded to fit the axles, powdercoated black and prob go to BFG 315 ATs. I love the look of the MTs but they hurt mileage.

If anybody has any tire suggestions, or had some that worked out for them, let me know.

Not overly impressed with the mileage I'm seeing out of mine either.. I was purchasing for the load rating (3640# at 80), and have heard good things about the tread wear.. I'd have to check, but I believe I am close to 40k on them now, may have another 10-15k left...

My (or RJs whichever) BFG MT's fared about as well for a better looking tire.. D range and the load rating wasn't there though in the size..

I want some Rickson 19.5s and call it good... Guy has some here at work that look great.. 5,000lb rating on the rim and load range G tires... Runs them at 30psi unloaded... Has over 70k on them now, probably half tread and regroovable

Well, I guess that takes another tire out of the running, even though I couldn't really find a Nitto TG in the size I wanted.

Looks like I'm back to BFGs, M/T KM2 or A/T KO. Let's see how much more I life I can squeeze out of these used Pro Comp XATs before I have to decide.

I got 60k on my first set of BFG ATKO 315/70/17. I still had plenty of tread left to go another 10-20k but I didn't want to chance it. The set that I have now has 42k with probably half of the tread left.

I rotate them every 5k and run 50 psi in the front and 40 in the rear. if Im towing I bump the rears up to 50.

I have heard lots of complaints about the nittos not lasting very long.

My nittos lasted probably 45k traded them in at discount with probably 5-10k left. Not bad for a a/t. If your going for mileage look into the stock michelins. I've had them on several work truck and never had them in a spot I couldn't get out of on the pipeline right of ways. Usually get 70k out of them too

I heard the Toyota Open Country MTs do good on diesels. I have a set on MT wife's tundra and they are holding up great. Ill probably give them a try when my ATs wear out.
