Im gonna see about making the 19th meet at Brian's. Sounds like a great time.

For projects.....Can I get somebody to help me with my brakes? I just bought new OEM pads that are waiting in the box. I want to replace all the old original brake fluid too and get the rotors turned. I just decided to go back with OEM. Hard to complain about 125,000 miles on the originals....which are still going strong. I think time is running out though.....especially on the fronts.

Does anybody have a brake bleeder or will one be available there? Obviously, im a little unsure of myself...as i've never attempted this before. I still need to buy some DOT 3. Anything else? Is there an auto parts place close to turn the rotors, open on Saturday?

Well I may not be working on my stuff when I come to the meet. My dad is telling me that he needs miles put on his truck (business expense), so I may be driving his truck until Christmas.

Don't need a bleader.... Just a bottle to catch used fluid... and lots of new fluid.
Two man job; one to open brake lines (one at a time) .... one to pump brakes and keep reservoir full!

Pulled the head off of the 96 today! Still crosshatch on every cylinder, very little lip at the top of the cylinder... Have to scrape some of the carbon off and see how much of a wear ring there really is... First time in 249,700 miles the head has been off of this motor... No stubborn bolts whatsoever...

Did however manage to break the coolant sensor and the dang coolant petcock! dangit!

Was good to get a look at what I was working with.. Pulled an oil sample so hopefully I can get a look at what bearings are looking like... From what I have seen, guessing machine work will be minimal at this point....

Sounds like a 3 man job..

Thanks for the info.

Any idea how much fluid I should get? I certainly don't want to under-buy. And is there anything else I need to buy...other than the Dot 3 fluid and pads?

Brian...any idea about turning my rotors? Is that something we can do at your shop? or is there an auto parts place, open on Sat., nearby?

...
