Hey guys, got a truck you've seen at the pulls up for truck of the month. He's also one of my crew, so don't hold that against him.

. I'm gonna see what I can do. I need to ride in a couple of yall's trucks w/built tranny's to give me the final push to just get mine done.
I looked at Mike's website again...but I guess he doesn't have a pic of the "retaining straps". http://www.lazarsmith.com/tractionbars.html
This extra addition needed for Ennis has kinda caught me off guard.
We just installed my traction bars last Saturday.

..

Guess so Justin! I doubt Mike's brackets are going to fail...but im sure that not all TB brackets are made quite like his either...
New and improved?
Honestly I don't know. Maybe Mike will jump in and explain. Probably some slight differences between the 2nd gens and 3rd gens.
Also our shock mounts on the rear axles can cause a slight clearance problem if the angle was any higher, so by making the front mounts lower..I am guessing that helps with that some.

Although I hate it when they want to drive my truck!! I'm like dude my clutch is going to snap ur little leg like a twig! (dude last time was about 5 foot nothing couldn't have weighed more tha n 120lbs, He said it was policy, whatever I told him I was riding with, one good push on the clutch and we switched spots!!
was pretty funny!)
was pretty funny!)
When I brought my truck to inspection, the tech-dude opened the door for the test drive, took one look at all the gauges, switches and billet aluminum and asked if I minded driving for him... so I took him for a little ride!
I still laugh every time I think of him saying "ok, now try the brakes... OK, slow down for this turn, alright - hit the brakes
OK - STOP !" as he white-knuckled the !OH CRAP! handle.
Some sanctioning bodies at some events require safety straps for traction bars, so we have the stainless steel aircraft cable restraints to pass tech where needed.
If a bracket or heim were to drop onto the ground, the bracket's skid plate (thanks Brian!
) or the heim's nose could only slide along the surface due to the shallow angle caused by the bars length... although if you were racing over a curb or across a cattle guard at speed with a dropped fore-end it might not be pretty!
10-4 on the new & improved design; there've been a bunch of running changes on the production pieces over the last year to fine tune materials availability, work flow in the shop, fit & finish, ease of installation and track-side adjustment. I think we're up to a couple of dozen design iterations away from yours Brian - but still none that work better!
