That's true and as a matter of fact I didn't even have them aired to max psi.

Speaking of tires have yall noticed how much they have went up lately? I need to get a new set pretty soon and I am definitely not looking forward to that blow to the bank account.

I have always had the BFG's but I might consider something else. Any recomendations?

 

I have a buddy who pulled 17 at a time on the 35' dovetail for miles with BFG MT 33x12.50s. I don't think he ever aired up past 40psi and never had a bit of trouble. Maybe luck, or maybe BFGs are just made well....don't know.

No suggestions on the next set of tires. The price of new is why my last two sets have been used ones I've bought off of other people.

 

Really anywhere West of I-35 is in need of hay. For the last few months Stephenville has been feeding West Texas, which is partly why I was asking, my parent's are on the hunt for hay in the affordable range instead of the $130-150 a bale they're seeing. Then of course I will be needing some hay too.
Someone bring the rain!

 

Sounds like there is some serious mpney to be made hauling hay from northern OK to North Texas!

One of the people I work with is getting a load in from Arkansas and I'll probably be asking them for the farmer's and trucker's numbers.

 

No relief is sight.... according to my tire guy.
Part of problem is everyone held off over last yr due to economy. Many now have to buy! (That's me)
Part of problem is China's need for after market parts has gone up 20% a yr for three yrs. Will pass US shortly!
Part of problem is shortage of rubber.

That explains why the tire I used to complain about being over $200 are now over $300.

Opps - Just checked two sites and 33/12.5/17's are only $10 less than 35/12.7/17's! Just under $300.00 each (Cooper and Pro Comp)
BFG A/T's are in the $350 range (35's)
But 285's are $260.

If Obama gets re-elected, I may be back to 265's!

Bridgestone REVO 2: 278.00 E
Yokohama AT 208.00 D

I want to buy USA but the Candadians and Japanese are coming in much cheaper. I am on my second set of BFG and really like them but would be nice to have a E rated tire. I would jump all over the firestone or bridgestones I just not sure how good they would look on the truck. What do yall think?

 

I'm leaning towards the Cooper STT. Have recently heard several glowing reviews for this newly redesigned tire. Many from offroaders but all say good wet traction and quiet on the Hwy.... for an agressive tire. New 3 ply sidewall design and have heard several say it will go 50,000+ miles??
Price range same as BFG's. Made by Michelin, I believe.

Just discovered, in the fine print on all tires, it does say where they are made....China, USA, etc.

That's why I'm burning the 37"s off down to the canvas... had to choose between new rubber on all 4 corners or a down payment on the new shop.

 

Mike that is not good news to hear buddy. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I've been out of town 2 out of the last 3 weeks and haven't been on the board much.

I've been meaning to come up and visit but ive been slammed every Monday (IM off SM now) dealing with my mother's business (power of attorney etc.) and lawyer and setting up trusts etc. Things are clearing up now so I can see light again.
