April Meet at The Ranch
I read that same concern when I was doing some searching before I bought the valve. I even saw where some people drilled some holes at the top of the threads to allow more oil to drain. I was going to do the same on mine to get a full drain, but once I measured I realized that the threads on the plug were slightly shorter and the depth of the drain hole. Not sure if they shortened the threads on the newer valves because of customer feedback, but retaining more oil doesn't appear to be a problem anymore.
I found drain hole is not the low point in the pan. I would add 1 clean qt before replacing plug even if did not have Futo Drain. I experimented with this before I added Futo and found my oil stayed clear for 700 miles by doing the extra qt!
Did everyone get the E-mail on NADM's Diesel Shoot Out on Oct 9th??
I'm going. but I won't be racing my truck anymore.
My DTT finally needs a rebuild after 280 1/4 mile passes and 200,000 miles.
My Tq Converter was slipping and showing sighs of wear and tear.
Rebuilding it instead of replacing with a triple disk to save $600.00.
And since the higher grade of friction material they use to use is no longer available, I limited to maybe 500 hp towing power.
