I don't think fossils can go into a state of hibernation

Not yet! I can handle about 55*F, but that's it!

Regardless of what National Geographic says, fossils DO feel cold (below 55*F).

And that's just what 33* and a 5mph wind feels like to Charlie.

Anyone get washed away in all the rain. Heard Dallas area got 9" in one day... wed I think??

We had a tornado that crossed Hwy 75, just north of the Red River, and downed high power cable towers on both sides of the road. Live cables were laying across the hwy and traffic was stopped .... backed up for 15 miles both ways with two hr delays due to rerouting.

Let's just say that I'm glad my house is on high ground! I was in Round Rock, and glad I decided to come home Monday night instead of Tuesday.

We got 5.8" over Tuesday and Wednesday. No high wind here, just a strong breeze all day on Tuesday. Andrea was still downtown when the tornado came through, but she was on the east side of 75 and had no clue it happened till I called her.

Rained good on Tuesday here in Stephenville, figured by morning I would have to be wading to my truck the next morning but it had mostly dried up by then.

I just found my new favorite truck accessory. The finger touch drain valve.

I finally bought one and put it in the last time I changed oil. I went out there today and drained the oil without a drop on the concrete or on my arms. I even pulled my sample directly from the pan in the middle of the stream and nothing was even spilled on the bottle.

It only took 10 years of oil changes on this truck to make this little discovery...

Those are great - we put them on everything that's got enough ground clearance... at our age, it's important to control Flow & Stream.

Been using a Futo drain (from Geno's) for 3-4 yrs. Love it also,but......
I run one qt of oil through the system before closing the drain.
Reason - these drains leave a bit more dirty oil in the pan. One clean qt seems to clean the dirty out a little better!

Regarding the storms, I think we got about 5.5 to 6 inches of rain here at my place. Very much needed and wanted! The park lake across the street flooded all the parking lots and ball fields over there.

I was coming home from work and managed to stay about 6 miles ahead of the tornado......that hit downtown Dallas. The found the roads surprizingly low on traffic. I think alot of people had stayed home due to the heavy rains and news reports.

That rain was nice. NOW, if we can just get summer to let go and cool on off. Mid 90s with high humidity is darn hot trying to do yard work!

They are a very nice addition! I added one at 15K miles.....3rd oil change. Makes getting an oil sample a breeze and it's so nice to control the flow.
