Well I have caught 3 of these (opossums) in the past few days. I think that is gonna be it for them. Maybe 1 more somewhere. I thought they were digging up my beds but then I found out the real suspect...............is actually an Armadillo.
Armodillos are very stubborn and very hard to trap and do a tremendous amount of damage (so i've found out).....so I suspect he will meet a very different fate than merely relocation like the possums. I do have a trap set for the Armadillo too.....but im not very optimistic that it's going to work. But I bet my .22 will if need be!!!

Where are they being "relocated" to? You might just have a persistent possum that's been caught 4 times. Maybe he just likes riding around in your truck.
We had trouble with possums at our trailer house in college. They tore a hole in the insulation underneath and would run around on top of the HVAC duct. But they only came around when the persimmon tree in the yard was dropping fruit. I always made sure my relocation drop point was on the other side of a busy highway. I wasn't going to make it easy for him to get back to the house.

Don't mean to sound callous but what is all this "Relocation" talk.
They are the only thing that gets into my yard that my dogs won't kill.
They actually fool my dogs when they play dead. The dogs lose all interest after they kill.
I've been shooting them to prevent damage to house.
Is that a bad idea?

Oh they are being relocated quite a long distance from my house.....maybe 5 to 6 miles or so. They are most definately all different possums. They have been a nuisance to my next door neighbor eating the peaches off of his tree. I thought they were digging in my yard but it was actually the armadillo.

I don't think a possum will damage your house. Armadillos can do some damage as I found out reading more about them online. Armadillos can damage the foundation and even kill trees by exposing their roots and burrowing in tunnels, not to mention tearing up your yard and flower beds.
If you want to kill the possums I sure wouldn't lose any sleep over it. But it's been so easy to trap the possums, i'd just as soon trap and release them somewhere else. I don't want to kill them unless absolutely necessary. The armadillos may be a different story because they are so persistent and are difficult to trap. The funny thing is I keep trying to trap the armadillo and every night I catch a new possum....
....4 so far now.

Well Mike you can come swing by my house and take #5 possum with you for tonight's dinner!
You can swing over by 380/Bridgefarmer to recapture 3 of the other 4 if you want a bigger meal....
I can't believe I caught another one and this time in a completely unbaited trap. It was just an empty set trap (set up with wood to funnel) the armadillo into it. Still no luck obviously catching (or shooting) the armadillo. Haven't seen him.

But no armadillo yet.
