I've been shooting them to prevent damage to house.
Is that a bad idea?

The only reason I was "re-locating" them in college was because I didn't have a .22 at the house. Even then, I would have had to relocate their remains to their final resting place.

I don't think the possums will cause any damage to a regular house, unless you have some holes where they can get into the inside. They never really tore up anything at the trailer house, except for running up and down the HVAC vents and some possum poop under the house.

Robert, I'm not sure you're going to be able to catch the armadillo. I'm not even sure what you would bait the trap with to catch him. Your best bet is going to be the .22, and that might take a couple of shots to get him in the right place. Some of them have a pretty tough shell.

BTW, how many neighborhood cats have you caught?

No cats so far Justin. Kinda surprized I haven't got one. Mine all stay indoors so no problem there.

Regarding the Armadillo........they are difficult to trap. You can't "bait" the trap because they like to dig for their food.....grubs, worms etc. You just have to set the trap up where they normally roam and use boards to kinda "funnel" them into the trap and hope they go in due to their poor eyesight. (that's why it's odd to me I keep catching possums in my unbaited trap set up for the armadillo!)

It's funny that ever since I had my .22 rifle out and handy he seems to be staying completely away.

I managed to catch a few neighborhood cats when I had my traps out. I was wondering how many of your neighbors let their cats roam outside whenever they want.

I thought you might have found some super-secret armadillo bait. I think the possums are stupid enough to just investigate the traps even when they're not baited and get caught. I set my traps one night when I didn't have any sardines for bait and just figured I'd see what happens. Sure enough, I got one before I got back with bait the next day.

My biggest worry at the time was that I was going to catch a skunk. Trailer houses and skunks are a bad mix, throw a trap in there and it's a lot worse.

I had a fuel filter change first today. Got the filter changed and everything looked good. Cranked the truck and no fuel pressure! Loosened the the housing nut, made sure every was tight. I noticed a little fuel on the filter housing, but though I just spilled some. It didn't want to start, so I bumped the starter to let the FASS run and noticed still no fuel pressure. WTH? Got out and looked and fuel was pouring out between the housing top and canister! I took the housing back out and everything looked fine. Put it back together and SAME THING!?????? I took it out again, removed the filter to check it against the old one and then I noticed the rubber seal that goes between the canister and housing was missing. Sure enough, it was on the old one. As many time as I have changed the filter, this was the first time this happened.
All is well now and Ole' Red is enjoying the new oil and filters.

Who has an electric polisher/buffer? I'm getting ready to sell my stock trailer and the Polaris (and attachments) as a package deal. The Polaris is still like new, but the trailer is faded and needs a little sprucing up.

Or, if you know anyone with $105k they need to spend, I'll sell my six acres, travel trailer, storage building, stock trailer, Polaris and attachments, Cub Cadet riding mower and Swisher pull behind mover. Might even throw in a few more things.
