weld in hitch

Does a weld in gooseneck hitch void any warranty? I have been told my some of the aftermarket dealers that do no do weldin hitches that it will. However I know some dealers that get weldin hitches put on the trucks when a customer ask for them.

no , welding will not void any warranty on the new hydro frames if the specs from Dodge Body Builders Guide are followed. See TSB 13-001-03 .
No welding is about as old as Ford owns Cummins............JIM

Nope

Chevies, and fords will give u hassle

But its pretty hard bolting on a gn hitch on a boxed in frame (chassis) on a new rig like urs.. My dad is a welder and we put these in all the time, infact just did one a couple days ago, 2500 2005 shorty crew 4x4.

Best of luck

Tx

Why weld when bolt ins work great and are designed correctly.Bolt in's are only about 2 hour job or less and nothing burned etc. This isn't the 1950's.

I like overkill...And bolts and welds seem to be the best for reliability.

Overkill? My truck has it's gooseneck ball mounted to a 1" thick plate that is 8" wide. Three bolts each side holds it to the frame.

I bought a equipment trailer to haul my ford indrustrial 445. I had the trailer place add hoohups for the safety chain. After 20 minutes they came back to me and said that they could not drill the pate, it was too thick, "is it ok if we weld to it?". Well it was the best they could do....
