Watta ya think

OK, I already know its to long. (flame suit on) 65' is legal in AR so I put a hitch on the TT, hooked up lights and took it for a spin. It was hard getting out of the driveway (who said you can't back up 2 trailers) but not too bad on the road. We go to the lake pretty often about 75 mi away and I have to make 2 trips getting everything there and getting it back. I can take 2 lane all the way. My son and I measured it @ 70' from truck bumper to rear of boat, not including 3 more feet of motor. Wife's Sebring won't pull boat and can't swing a new TV right now. Would you try it? Please no ridicule just honest opinions.

I don't know the legalities of such a rig; but, when the Ohio Navy invades our little mudhole lake town every summer, I see hundreds of set-ups like yours, except with much larger boats.

Legal in your state or not, I don't think bumper pull doubles are safe at all.

I keep hearing Devo in my head.

Whip it, whip it good. :-)

I wouldn’t chance it. Even if the cops didn’t stop you, if you ever got into a situation where you had to make a sudden move to avoid an accident I think you’d be in big trouble. Even dropping off a shoulder on a two-lane highway could spell disaster. Better to make two trips and be safe, than to take a chance on wiping out your stuff, or worse wiping out yourself and whoever might be riding with you. I’ve seen a bad wreck with a setup like that, it wasn’t pretty. Not to mention that your insurance company probably wouldn’t cover you because you’re over length and some won’t cover pulling doubles.
Have fun but be safe!

i'm all about safety don't get me wrong... If everything is legal in your state to do this and you know the route good and of course use plenty of common sence and GOOD WHOA, with the way fuel prices are i know 2 trips really bites, I say you should be good to go. I see these types of things a lot. If you are a bit worried and not sure on the laws, then it might be better making 2 trips.
Like everyone knows, when you pull just use common sense and in this case double common sense.

Safety first

Holy Moses

You need one of these:

Probably cheaper to buy another truck and have someone else drive one of the toys up

Trade the TT for a 5'er and all will be good. I do not know of any state where 2 bumper pulls together is legal, but a king pin trailer with a ball hitch behind it is deemed safe. Better safe than sorry, I could see this getting ugly in a hurry.

I use to pull a double trailer set up like that also except I was pulling a little utility trailer insted of a boat. I never had any trouble but that second trailer is very easy to get swaying, I would keep around 60 mph. Backing up is pretty much a no go with 2 pivot points it is pretty much impossible outside of 5 feet. I won't do it anymore and I would recomend trading that trailer in for a camper.
