If you are talking for the brake controller, you can get one specifically for the Dodge and certain controllers. I know I got one for my Tekonsha Prodigy and just plugged it into the controller and plugged it into the controller connector under the dash. Less than $20 with the controller and I think they threw it in with my controller.

You can pick those up a lot of places that have trailer parts. I think I got one at a hardware store (about 3 1/2 years ago) but it hasn't been out of the package yet.
The reason that you have the "round" 7 blade one on your truck is that most of the trailers that these trucks pull use the full 7 pins. Trailer Brakes, tail, backup (also called auxillary), ground, power (to charge onboard battery), left turn/brake light, and right turn/brake light.
The 4 pin that you want only does a ground, tail, left turn/brake, and right turn/brake.

Does anyone know if there are secondary adapters available to place a second 7 way plug in the bed? I'm not sure why the hell the factory doesn't do this, i hate hanging wires over my tailgate for 5th wheels and goosenecks. I've got the plug to go into the bed, i'm looking for some type of T adapter to put in between the wiring harness and the 7 way on the bumper to put another 7 way in the bed instead of splicing everything.
