Soooooooo - We got a new RV

Yahooooo! Our brandy new 2011 Cougar 318SAB just got delivered today. Not exactly camping weather, yet we can hardly wait to hook up and get this beautiful animal out to the lake lot. This is our first 5vr so it will be a whole new adventure for us. My bride and I will be living in this unit year round starting in June 2011 and plan on wintering pretty much anywhere but in Alberta.

Just so exited wanted to let ya'll know!

Cheers!

Mike

Congrats! Does your 2011 have the new front cap colors? I have a 2010 318SAB and have really enjoyed this unit, last camping season.
I would check out this site also: http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/index.php
I am on this site also and this is dedicated to KEYSTONE users.

Hi erveryone!

Thak you for your kind words.

rebal: Yes, of course you are correct! I will take pictures this weekend when I go to take the batteries out for storage over the winter.

Jeff in TD: Yes, we will definitely be heading to Arizona for a couple of "look arounds" and we plan on wintering there as soon as I fully retire. Right now I am still in the semi retired mode until we get our poop in a group!

Jim W: I don't know - I never even paid attention to the cap colors. I will check when I get the pictures this weekend. Thanks for the link to the Keystone web.

Have I mentioned yet how pumped we are for this new adventure?

Cheers All!

Mike

I didn't really understand the draw to winter in an RV in Arizona, until the GF's parents started doing it (Welton), and we went down to visit.

The park they are in is picky about who they let in, but everyone there is super-nice. Not a jerk in the whole place.

A group of friends does ATV rides leaving right out of the park, with a ladies day once a week. A large group fly RC aircraft. There's a group of folks into crafting, and a bunch who also golf frequently. There are groups going in to Mexico, or to dinner on Thursdays, and someone hosts a "happy hour" nightly.

I guess I imagined a bunch of people sitting around in their RV's, but it is an amazingly active place. In the spring people hate to part with all their winter friends.

Congrats on the new 5ver, I looked up the floorplan and I do like it. We have been looking for this same layout with the opposing rear slides mid entry but would like the bed fore/aft with the wardrobe in the third slide. We plan on going to the next RV show and hope to buy one there but we will do our home work first. This model is definitely on our list though. In-laws wintered in Arizona for 14 years and only stopped because of health reasons. We have visited them and it really is a friendly and active lifestyle. I've been retired for 6 years and just waiting for the missus to pull the pin. soon

I was out at the trailer today to get the batteries and I took a few pics of the outside of the RV. The pictures are at this link on photobucket:

http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w...ugar%20318SAB/

I didn't have time today to take any shots of the inside of the RV and when I do I will post them up in this album. The bride and I really like the floor plan because it gives me a small area for office space and it seemed to have an ideal layout for us. This is gong to become our home for the next few years so it was critical to find a floor plan with some flexibility built in. We are doing lots of research on the ways and world of year-round RV living. It is going to be an awesome adventure for us! I was tempted to put the skirting all around it today however, time constraints again .

Please ignore the filthy condition of the RAM. I haven't had a chance to wash it and the roads are pretty gross right now.

Cheers All!

Mike

Arizona RV

You will love Arizona. We have been going for 3 years now. We have been all around the state and would caution you to not be too quick to settle down in one spot. There are so many places to see and things to do. We still haven't stayed in a RV park for more than a week yet we keep finding things to do.
