I only tow 10k, but I constantly have to manage the EGT to 1300* when pulling long hills in third. I've got more throttle than airflow apparently and could easily go well above that temp. Trans temp is also an issue backing up, and when getting stuck pulling hills at a speed where the torque converter is unlocked. I wouldn't want to tow without those two gauges, particularly now that I have them and see how easy it is to test the limits.

As to the factory transmission pan, no it doesn't have a temp sender port. That's an added benefit of an aftermarket double deep pan that also provides more fluid capacity.

My vote is a pyro & transmission gauge. I use the pyro every day, I wait till temperature drops below 350* before shutting down the engine. When towing I let the temperature stay below 300* for 3-4 minutes. The transmission gauge helps in stop and go traffic and when backing, The reverse gear in a auto is not as efficient and that creates heat fast. I have to back the boat up the driveway and will easly go from 150* to 180* in a few short minutes. But it is not necessary on a stock truck (like mine) but I like the piece of mind. I wish I had gotten the Dipricols. JMO

My vote, there maybe some problems with the fuel pressure they are trying to work out, but for the money you can't go wrong with it.

Definitely the cleanest way to go with the most displayable parameters, the more I drive the truck the happier I am that I took Quadzilla's advice.

I agree with pyro and trans temp being the most important, the boost is handy when towing if you are trying to get a little better fuel mileage. When the boost goes up fuel mpg goes down and watching your boost and pyro can help find the "sweet spot" for your combination.
