Oh I agree too man. Nobody wants to hear about another towing mishap. Just thought it was a strange reply for the first posting.
Kudos to ridofpwrstroke for moving a load like that safely on a journey up the Alcan, which is not always the easiest of roads to drive.

Thanks everyone. Believe me, at night while I was sleeping, I had nightmares. Even when I got back home, all I could think about was pulling the dam trailer. My wife got sick of that real quick. It definately was a stressful trip. It took a little longer to get the picks on the computer, but I finally figured it out. The shop is going up this weekend. I will take pics and show you all how it turns out.

That is amazing, to say the least. I would not want to pull a load like that. Glad you made it all right.

I got past the scales by driving right past them. When I drove down from alaska I asked a few weigh stations if i needed to weigh in. THey asked if I was commercial, and I wasn t, so they said I didnt have to stop. Most weigh stations I drove past were closed as well. I did get stopped in fort nelson and had to weigh in, but I got over on that. As far as straps, I used around 15 5000lb straps and about 10 10,000lb straps. While in Iraq, units were throwing them away and I just picked them up and sent them home in the connex.

I saw those pics!

MAN!!

I do gotta ask though..........................

How did you get out of TEXAS with that load???????

I run up and down 287 from Ft Worth up to Quanah/Childress on a daily basis(about 200 miles out and 200 back). I see the DPS pulling over the ACE and ACME drivers, the 2-3 car auction haulerdrivers, and the multiple cargo trailer hauler drivers on a daily basis. Most of them are running 1 Ton Duallys with 32-40 foot flatbeds.

And you made it out of here with that!!

My hats off to ya................................................ ..

Wow -- that picture of the loaded trailer reminded me of "The Grinch" with his sleigh loaded up!

I didnt pick the shop up until I got to nebraska. The only thing I had on the trailer was a four wheeler, two post lift, and a tire machine and balancer.

Ok was this in addition to the shop? Or did you drop those and just haul the shop back? Just read the thread, going up the hills, 9% how fast were you going? I pulled 24K up some 6% and droppped down to 2nd (auto) at about 25mph. How hot did the temp gauge get?
