I was at dealer a while back getting front coil spring recall done. Noticed in the accessary book from MOPAR and exhaust brake that did not void warranty. Said to ask your dealer. I did, they knew nothing about it but agreed it was in the book and offered to check on it. I run a TST and did not want them looking to hard at my truck.

I asked my dealer about the effects of a brake on my warranty. They basically said, if you like tranny warranty, don't do it.

Isn't that typical Tweeter. Can't they give you a straight "professional" answer, like " It will void your warranty", or "We are not sure if that is an option."

My Jacobs / 48RE seems to work fine

Right or wrong, my dealer installed a Jacobs exhaust brake on my '03 when I bought the truck. Two months later, when I brought the DC warranty issue to their attention (after finding out about it on this site), they said they would honor the truck warranty even though the brake was installed. I haven't had to test this yet, but so far this dealer has been nothing short of outstanding in terms of service. 45K on the odometer now, with about 15% of those miles spent towing, I LOVE my 48RE/Jake combo, and have had no problems. Truck still drives like the day I brought it home.
