Mounting question

I have just purchased a gooseneck trailer and need to install a hitch in my 05 3500 4x4 short bed, I have a set of rails and a ball hitch (Reese) but no hardware. Does anyone have any experience with this type of install?

On my old Ford, I made my own brackets underneath with 3/8" plate and used 1/2" bolts.

I don't know if you tow much or plan towing a 5th wheel as well, but if it were me, I'd look at selling the rails and the ball and buying a B&W turnover ball. I had the rails and a 5th wheel and gooseneck adapter in my old truck and hated having the rails in the way all the time.
