just picked up a flatbed

i just picked myself up a 22ft corn pro flat bed with 10k axles under it. the guy bought it a year ago for $11,000 and used it one time and i just baught it for $5,000. i think i got a pretty good deal.

the thing is it has a completly flat deck and no ramps. i would like to figure a way to mount ramps so i could haul a tractor or even cars if i can. if anyone has any advice on how i can do this and even pics i would appreciate it.

also i want to mount a winch that i can use to even pull a tractor up on the trailer. does anyone know where i can find a good deal on something like this? and how some of you have mounted one up?

please any and all advice for a new flatbed owner.

You will need very long ramps, so the incline wont be real steep. Plus it will be quite a strain on a winch going up that incline. Look on some trucker(semi) websites/magazines, I have seen ramps for flatbed trailers.
Look at other GN trailers that have ramps. That may give you some ideas for mounting them.

Good deal on that trailer! What would be good for what you want to do is if you could get a dovetail on it to cut down the angle on your ramps. If you just went with ramps you'd probably have to go with some good long ramps. Seems the trailers with the doves are 5 feet so maybe you'd need 10ft ramps? And to load a tractor on those they'd have to be sturdy.

I put a warn on the front of my trailer(got tired of hand winching things on it). You could put it up front under the gooseneck and just mount it to a heavy plate and run your wires. Not sure what size you would need to pull up that slope. I've got my warn it's an 8k with a 16k double line pull and it does good for what I've got. 16k should be good to pull up on that trailer I would think. I've got a Koenig I brought home attached to a junky truck it's an 8k as well but I think it needs the electric motor rebuilt on it and I think it would have to have a switch rigged up. I'm not doing anything with it and have been pondering putting it on here for sale I just have not had time to do so.

Depends on where he is driving on the choice to go with the dovetail.. You can put drop down legs midway in the ramps if you decide to go with them, as for the hookup to the trailer with the ramps can you put a rub rail back there to hang the ramps off of? check out the trailer pics in my profile for some ideas..

A good place for some ramps (and other trucking and trailer items like straps, chains, etc...) is Trucn 'N Tow.

I have bought car tie down straps (Vulcan orange) for my 16' flatbed. Great stuff.
