Need 2008 Dodge 4500 trailer wiring scematic

I posted this message over on the TDR to no avail at this point, but might get a quicker response here.

Installed my new Prodigy controler and got a "Short" error code.
I believe the upfitter crossed some wires on my 7 wire plug.

I found the wiring schema on Dodge's website for Upfitters, but can quite identify all the wires. Below is my message from the Towing forum:
---------------------------------------------------------------

HELP AGAIN!!

I went to the Dodge Upfitters site and went to this page:

http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/200...trailertow.pdf

But can't quite identify every wire. I can't read it too well. (Why can't Dodge just stick with the Universal Wire colors for trailer connectors).

I am pretty sure that the wires are screwed up.

On my truck I have the following wires:
Black - ??? (Ground?)
Red/Violet tracer - ???? (Power?)
Brown - Tail lights ?
Yellow - Left Turn
Light Green - Right Turn
Dark Green - ??? (I think the brake wire)
White/Lt. Green tracer - ???? (Aux?)

I need help ASAP since i have the plug out right now and it looks like rain later.

Thanks again.

Couple of questions come to mind..

Is the harness from the prodigy to the truck factory or was it spliced from the prodigy pigtail to the dodge pigtail (both should be marked)? if it is spliced check each connection..I would check it even if it was a factory.

Was the 7 pole wired properly wired as there is 2 different patterns I'm aware of..

Go to this document and print it out as it has the wiring colors for the 7 pole trailer up fitter harness..Dodge even fixed a screw up on this that I caught after it had been up almost a year...the guy said he would put me in the drawing for a free truck

When I put in the Prodigy, I used their special one piece harness that just simply snaps into the Brake controler connection under the dash.

I'm trying to figuer out if the upfitter wired the rear connection correctly or not. I think they did not. I believe they reversed the Brake wire with the Ground wire, but I'm not sure.

And of course my circuit tester light's bulb burnt out and everything is closed now, so I can't tell if what I think is the Power wire (red/violet tracer) is really a power wire.

The first link you displayed is the one I have been refering to on Dodge's Upfitter's information, but I'm not able to read it correctly (I'm not an electrician). I am pretty sure I have ID'ed the right/left and running lights wires, it is the other three I am trying to ID on the back of the truck.

On 2nd look at your 1st link you gave me ... THAT IS IT! I could not find that on that Upfitters link from Dodge before.

That is the info I need!!! When it is light out tomorrow I'll go check the wire connections the upfitter did on the plug, but I'm pretty sure now that they switch the Brake and the Ground wires.

Thanks!!!

When I built the flat bed for the 5500 I put this box on the driver side for all of the truck electrical hookups and one on the right side for the trailer hookup as I have a plug on the back bumper and one under the hatch for the GN to plug into. I mounted the LED TS Light resistors to a piece of aluminum strap(then spaced the strap out from the bed) to help cool it. Be sure to check that the "Truck" lights were split L&R (both TS and Park Lamps) as you don't want to overload the circuit.. (parameters for this is listed in the cautionary notes section of the up-fitters guide): http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/200...mextlitmod.pdf
You can check out my set up in 4500/5500 flat bed is done post..

I don't think I'll be using any LED lights, but all the wire detailed in your previous link are there on my truck (I also found a break in the insulation of the Black (Ground) wire that I taped up).
Thisis just a typical 7-way trailer connector I am rewiring so it should be simple enough for a 4th grader to do (I hope). I had no problems rewiring my old '97 with the same Prodigy controler ... which works find as I tested it today on both my trailers.

Thanks again for your input and solving my problem.
