Question hay

i plan on hauling around 300 bales of hay to fla in feb.just wondering if anybody knows what there getting for a small square bale in the north part of florida thanks

FYI, you might need permits from Florida Dept of Ag to bring that into the state. I've heard they are not hard to get.

I took a load down to florida last june and got 12.00 per bale for it I didnt have any permit but i didnt cross scales either.

Horse people in florida told me about the permit thing. Said that it has some thing to to with protection from noxious weeds and other harmful insects. Supposed to protect Florida agriculture.

I agree with Spooler. take it to georgia. save the miles.
I sent some with a friend(to help out her sister) when she went back home to GA for Christmas. I charged her $4 a bale. She was excited. Said they are going for $6-10+ down there.

i,m going to okeechobee at the end of feb to pick a car up and i didn't want to go down empty and try to help pay for the fuel.thanks for all the info.i will check out about the permits.

The advice to sell it in GA (or NC , SC , VA ? ) is good . Think about it . Why use the excess fuel and get your speed reduced all the way to Florida when you could sell it further North ?

I agree, sell it as far north as you can and still make about the same money. Hay is not light, or aerodynamic.
