Didn't we start out discussing slop and noise in the hitch? if it were tight enough to not make noise, you'd never get it in and out without a fight. Instead, there would be a thread on "I can't get the dang thing out".

Your factory hitch is fine for what it's intended. Read the label to see what that is. Use it as directed.

Exactly. That is why two of us said, weld a nut to it, and use a set screw. If you want it out, back it out 1/4 turn, if you want it tight and not making noise, 1/4 turn the other way! I love mine that way. Now, I always keep a 1 1/8" wrench in my truck in case I need to remove it, but that wrench under my seat is worth not having the bumpety clank bump clankety racket behind me when I tow a small trailer.

On my '98, I just drilled and tapped two 1/2 -13 holes in the receiver tube for the noise issue; it's a huge adjustable multi-hitch that weighs about 50# and the radio wouldn't drown it out...
