Controller for Disc brakes

I've run the Prodigy for years with zero problems on electric brakes.
The new 5er comes in next week with Hyd. over elec. disc brakes, from Dexter.
Do I need a new controller or will the Prodigy still be compatible?

Don't trust a Prodigy with disc brakes. Get a Brakesmart. Prodigy is bad enough with regular brakes.

You can use a P3 for elec. over hyd. brakes. It works very similar to the Prodigy but has more options.

Is the elec./hyd actuator(pump) itself a Dexter or a Carlisle if it is a Carlisle they make an adapter (HBA-CAM) that adapts the unit to the prodigy. the problem is the way the prodigy sends out a signal to check the trailer brake connection. Dexter may have improved their system as well go to their web and do your homework,

I'm going to put the Carlisle actuator over my dual 10kHD dexter axles on the 32' goose i'm building now....and Keep my prodigy controller!

Happy Towing

Get a Brakesmart. You will not believe the difference and yes, it is worth the cost. You will be screaming to everyone else how awesome it is. I love mine.

I tried to get the Brakesmart, never got through. I got the Maxbrake. They seemed to me nearly identical and I could not be any happier than I am with it. Also less $$$$ and arived super fast.

Colo is right it really depends on which electric/hydraulic actuator you have, not which brake control.

I was gonna buy a brakesmart but i only got 3 axles. Prodigy works perfect for me, especially since the price was only 89 bucks compared to the few hundred plus that brakesmart is asking.
