To duel disc or not to duel disc that is the?

What are the down sides to a duel disc clutch?

I can get the 450hp clutch for 700 bucks from SB. The dd clutch is on sale for a grand here. I have no problem spending the extra 300 bucks but the place I'm having it installed told me not to do it. What's the true scoop?

A little extra noise and a bit slower shifting is the only downfalls I can think of if you go with a 3250.If you go to a 3600 and up the pedal presure will be more.If you have plans on further modding the truck then I would say get more clutch now and you wont have any worries. If you are less than 500hp and are happy there I say get the con ofe,no noise, feels like stock and will last a long time.My ofe is still holding everything in my sig(barely).I'm looking at the 3600 when I do upgrade.

Backing up trailers will be easier with a dual disk than a single disc.

i have had 3600 for 2 years not 1 issue. the peddle preasure has its days tho some days after work (work truck is the same but stock clutch) its like y did i put this in. but as far as trailers go i have never had a problem. less chance of slipping with the heavier weight and backing up no problems i mean you can back a trailer up with 14k at and idle and thats like 2mph if thats to fast then you need to practice backing up. if you like the feel of a stck clutch and your not going to sled pull id run the 3250. even if you are going to be over the 550hp mark there are alot of guys out there that have that clutch and are over thos #'s with out any problems. peter at SBC will even tell you that it will hold more

so what is the biggest difference in the 3600 and 3250 DD. I dont do any sled pulling, just driving. I have 2low on my truck so im not worried about backin up so its not a big deal. plus the 37" tires help too. Id like to figure this out before the sale ends as even if i dont put it in right away at least its there for a rainy day. Also does the DD replace the flywheel(not sure if it comes with a new one) and do i need the hydroupgrades??

With the NV5600, you don't need hydraulics with the 3250dd. That was based on talking with Peter. So I didn't purchase them, and I have been running mine for several years without issues. I would think you need them with a 3600dd. They are a must with the G56 trans. I would guess the biggest difference between the two is how much HP they will hold since neither are for pulling. You get a new flywheel with them. Tac

You need the hydros on a G56, on the other transmissions some people get away with out the upgrade while others end up putting them in later on. It does indeed come with the ductile iron fly wheel. These newer style clutches shift a lot faster than the old style doubles, they are a tad noisier though.

Go DD. I can shift my truck just as fast as stock, though sometimes it is tougher to get into gear, but if you put it into 3rd first, then go to 1st, 2nd or Rev, it will go fine. I also have towed quite heavy, and it was livestock and it is important not to be throwin the animals down and potentialy injureing them and I have had no issues with my 3600. But is does take a lil gettin used to and the pedal pressure is heavier, but if you get the 3250 it should have even better manners then the 3600.

I was in your shoes at one time, and all I can say is I am I am glad I got the DD. My once 500hp goal has been supassed and now I am shootin for 750ish, and the clutch just keeps on takin it. Hasnt slipped once on me in about 25k.

Good luck whatever you choose.
