What will blocking someone do?

Admins, there's a certain member of this forum (you can figure out who if you look at the threads i've spoken in. he's the one that singles out my comments and attacks them) that I want to ignore. My question is, if i put this character on my blocked list, will that block his responses in the forums from my view as well? I think that's the best way to solve the problem.

If you're having a problem with someone posting negatively about you, please report the posts, we can respond to it better.

PM one of us (admins) with what's going on, we'll look into it.

I'm not sure what blocking someone will do.

You could always test it out and let us know. Try blocking me to see what it does.

I'm pretty sure blocking someone only prevents them from sending you pm's.

Put the person(s) on your IGNORE list.

If you are referring to the "Buddy / Ignore Lists" in your user Control Panel, adding a name to the ignore list will block that user's posts from your view only. Everyone else can see still what they post but you will see the following message in place of their post.

clemson725
This message is hidden because clemson725 is on your ignore list.
Of course the name in the post will be different. It will be the user name of whomever you add to the list. I just used your's as an example. To reiterate Madhat's advice, if you're having a problem and feel you're the victim of an unwarranted attack, you need to contact one of us.

I'd like to suggest that you simply ignore the person, obviously you are living rent free in his head, and this bothers him or her. Your true friends and others see this too. It's his problem not yours.

On the other side of this, (this is a general statement) if someone is harassing you, don't fuel the fire. Don't respond to their posts.
