Re:Ford/DMax?

hmmm, I have about 5 friends that have diesel trucks that I camp/jeep with regularly. Between us there are 2 '03 dodges, 1 '01 psd, 1 '02 psd, and an 03 psd 6.0 (just picked up yesterday). (no it didn't break, yet... couldn't help myself...)

I spend a small amount of time on one of the ford sites keeping up to date with ford info so I can keep it up to speed. Do I like this site better, Yep. Do my friends like it better? Yep. Do I think we can be mature enough to maintain a good site and further benefit from the vast amount of knowledge out there from folks that don't happen to drive dodge's? I hope so. Do I think it is worth a shot? Yep.

We can always delete the additional forums if they don't work out. My little vote - go for it!

Re:Ford/DMax?

I'm all for growing the site. I think that with the moderaters we have here, the garbage that happens on other sites will not be allowed to happen here. This kind of growth would definitely expand the General Diesel and RV/Towing sections in a good way. Think of new forums as radio stations - if you don't want to hear hip hop (or read about Fords), don't tune to that station.

This is along the same way of thinking that I have also. ;D
At the last "get-together" that the VA chapter had in Claremont, we did have a PSD that attended and I didn't see the first punch thrown! There weren't any harsh words or boasting going on,,,,,,, just good old fashion conversation between gearheads. And even though "yours truly" could not help himself when he asked if someone was running a generator when the PSD made his run on the dyno,,,, : ,,,,,, the remark was made in jest,,,,, just to get a smile and a laugh. . It got an even bigger laugh after a certain stock blue "Little Truck" got off the dyno. But nothing really mattered other than the smiles, laughter and good time had by all.
As Top has said, we have talked about this from time to time and if it happens,,,,,, then I think it would once again, show how our type of membership can shine just a little brighter than the rest out there in cyber-land.

*DeWain,,, I think you may have misunderstood my first post. Top and I are thinking the same way. ,,,,,, Oh Man!!.... that's scary!

Re:Ford/DMax?

I would like to keep the site mostly dodge myself. Having said that I enjoy having owners of the other trucks coming here and comparing and bringing a little competition. Its always fun to raise the bar.

FORDs :...Chebbys ...there goes the neighborhood! . I have been in all "Jeep" clubs and forums but have to admit that when the other brands came in it could be a lot of fun.. This has been and continues to be a model site...I am sure by no small effort on several folks part. Proceed with caution but proceed none the less. Just remember they will need a BIG HELP! section :P 8) :-X!

Re:Ford/DMax?

I don't think having the Ford and Chevy guy's is such a bad idea. As long as was said before, as long as it is kept as a family oriented site would be alright. It would only add to the vast amounts of infromation which can be gleened from personal experience. I love this site and never go more than two day's without checking out some of the new posts. The humor has alway's been kept on a good level, and having other brand name owners her may make it better as well. As long as it dosen't get out of hand like on some of the other sites. Which is why I like this in the first place. I don't own a diesel yet, and to tell you the truth I'm leaning more towards a 90- 93 chevy with a 6.2. Only for the fact that they get about 30 miles to the gallon and they are in half ton trucks. The newer trucks are all three quarter ton a little to big for just driving to work. Unless I can get a good deal on one. Anyhow just my two cents worth.

Re:Ford/DMax?

Well, I'm going to wage in here with an observation about the presence of the other diesels on this site. On the OTHER site I actively participate (NWBOMBERS.com), other diesels are actively encouraged to join in and do from time to time. We have currently a DMAX who keeps us honest. I've learned alot of respect from this other source. It's good to get the correct information and not all the other stuff. It basically boils down to, if "they" set up the forums for "them", you don't have to go there. Product loyality is fine, but information is equally, if not, more important. I've personally sworn that I will never own a 2003 or later model, don't like the looks, but then, that's just me. NOW, if it was a 4500 or 5500, it's a new ball game. I like the current emphasis on a family format. It just feels good to me. Well, that's more than 2.5 cents. Does any of this make any sense?????

~Dave

Re:Ford/DMax?

Aww Mannnn! I'm still trying to get over the name change from Dodge-Diesel.org!! [undecided] Back then I was assured by the Boss...the Chief... the Big Kahuna, this was never going to happen. Never say never I guess....

Seriously, I've always considered dieseltruckresource.com an alternative,.....and...ok... a competetor to the other site; a great alternative. I guess this is the point where the sites diverge and can no longer be compared equally. Geez!...I hate change.. > .. .. :'(....

This ought to keep the moderators busy. ;D

Hey Dodge boys, meet behind the moderators tent at 22:00 hours for a panty raid on the Ford forum!
