Another New Guy
Central Texas guy here, Bryan to be exact.
I own a 2001 extended cab, 6spd with about 104K on it now. Inherited it from my wife after I bought her new Charger. This is my 2nd Cummins with my first being a 2001 single cab 5spd. My single cab ran a lot stronger than my current ride but I'm learning to love the electric windows and upgraded stereo in the x-cab.
Interested in learning about the maintenance and care for these trucks. Quite frankly I can't justify anything new when they cost so danged much now and aren't any better than what I've already got. If everything goes right I hope to get at least 400K out of this thing.

I've kept that screen name for a few years. When I was on the street I usually worked the bad parts of town and hauled quite a few in. It just kind of stuck........
I promoted a few years back and am back on a patrol team as a supervisor after spending the last 7 years on motors as an officer then sergeant. Lately, unless my computer attacks me, the worst person I deal with are the folks in our IT department.

Welcome 10-95
We blow through Bryan on the bikes every now and then. It's a quicker ride home from Yankee's Tavern then going through the forest
Lot's of good stuff on here!

Welcome to the site!! The only problem I have ever had (so far) with my '02 is VP44 and the fuel pump. You might want to get some gauges so you can keep an eye on the fuel pressure. I think the '01's may have some of the same problems with the fuel system. Take care and have fun!!

Welcome to the site. If both of your truck are 01s then the 6 sp with the HO motor should be stronger I would think. Unless the weight of the bigger truck make it way heavy.
