ahhh, NO. MAP plugs will have three (3) wires. One in voltage in, one is ground and the last is the return signal to the ECM. It is a round plug. Two prongs on the bottem and one centered above those, making it look like a triagle.

Correct. Data only has two wires. Mine is also grey, but in a flat configuration. I think that is the only difference between 1998.5 -1999 and 2000's. But the MAP on all 1998.5 to 2000 will be round, but the prongs are as I described above in post #17.

Is there a fuel only download for the XZT+ that would allow you to stack a Hypertech with it? It says on quads site that all the boxes are shipped with the aggressive tune already downloaded, am I missing something?

How is the power / pull thru the RPM range as compared to the Edge / Hypertech? I have a VanAaken V5 (which I heard was better down low than Edge - but I dunno) which I was thinking of replacing with an XZT+.

Thanks, Mike.

I think that's a missprint on the +2000 Aggressive file description. I believe the XZT+ is shipped with the factory mild tune. Read the description for the +1000 file. That's more accurate. For timing oln why not just put the switch in the middle position? But to be honest, I'm not even sure you can stack a XZT+ and a Hypertech. Isn't the Hypertech a downloader that controls timing through the ECM? I would think you'd want a wiretapping box that just does fuel to stack with the Hypertech. But I've never had a Hypertech, so I'm not really sure. I do know you don't want to stack two boxes and or downloaders that bother do timing; unless you eliminate timing mode in one or the other like you can with a Smarty.

Thanks, Mike.
The XZT+ fuels a lot harder down low than an EZ or a V5 does.

Thanks JPR, I think the V5 is strictly timing so any added fuel down low would be a big improvement over what I currently have.

Thanks much, Mike.

Yes, thats why I was wondering if the xzt+ had a fuel only download.

I needed the triangular plug, had the wrong harness and had to open up the module for modification. Installed it all in about 30min. and downloaded the 2004 program. Started yesterday morning and once the high idle kicked in, it ran for about 30 seconds then died. I tried to restart but it wouldn't so I unplugged it and noticed the cel on. Not sure if that was from it dying or because I unplugged it and the ecm is not able to read the MAP now.

Or did it die because I still have the schip installed and it was to much? Not sure what to think but I'm going in Friday to have it reflashed, will try again and post the results.

yes, pretty simple but I probably shouldn't be discussing. I'll post more when I get the reflash to inform all is working properly.
