Not to mention box trucks, or U-hauls, where even if they HAVE a rear window you can't see regardless.
I've had trucks with 5% all around, HATED it. Got pulled over even in that truck, the middle of winter, rolled the windows down so he might not notice and FROZE my butt off. Got the speeding ticket but never said a word about the windows. 50% is legal in Ohio. I ussually stick to that, it's about as dark as I'm comfortable with on the sides, then go with 20% on the back. I like the back darker myself. Make it the same at first, you can always tint over it if you want it darker.

Alright, I looked up the Texas window tint laws in the Traffic Code because I was tired of conjecture and mixed reports.
In Texas, the limit for the windshield is 25% and can only be above the AS-1 line (which is about 5" below the top).
In Texas, the limit for the front side windows is 25%.
In Texas, there is no limit for the rear side windows (behind the operator) and the rear glass, as long as sideview mirrors are intact.
