valves

Has anyone seen a valve that can be used to change the exhaust with a flip of a switch? I know they have them for gassers, but i dont think they make them 4". I was thinkin I wonder if a valve off a 4" water pipe would work. ( no not the PVC ones ) I think it would be cool to be able to go between strait pipe stacks and a full system with muffler. Or maybe just put a valve and a Y pipe right under the pasenger seat, HeHe I would mind having to reach under to change the valve. Any Ideas welcome.

AHH YES. The old cutout device. Boy, those were the big things back a few years ago. Would love just to cruise around nice and quiet and then cut over to straight pipe and rev it up a little here and there. All my friends would know it was me passing their houses late at night. Some times, even got a flame out the side due to shutting off/on the key causing a back fire. Those were the days.

Here's another one.
I put a 3" on on my brothers 454, works good. Product is built really good, but will probably need cleaned on a diesel about once a year to kee it from sooting up.

Sent them a note about the "G".

Their reply:

Thanks for the heads up. It appears to be spelled right on the home page
and wrong in others.

PDR sells something like your talking about. It switches to dual exuast when the engine is up on boost and single when it's building boost. They had one on a display engine with twins at there dyno day.

Looked at the QTEC valve that Chris linked to a couple years ago and wondered why it couldn't be made into an exhaust brake. Lot cheaper than anything else on the market.

I don't see any reason why not...providing you can come up with a way to control the amount of backpressure applied. I wouldn't want to put more backpressure on than the valve springs can hold back.

A simple hole drilled in it to bleed off excess, or some type of wastegate device like the US Gear DeCelerator uses would be ideal

A *little* steep? Sheesh $400 will buy a lot of power on one of these engines, or a valve body for your trans, or lots of fuel, or ..

I know JC Whintey has them for the gasser for hell of alot less... I don't think they have a 3", 4" or 5" valve...
