Wheel And Tire Requirements?
I'm thining about getting some aftermarket wheels and tires for my 2500.
Can someone tell me what kind of load rating I should be looking for on the wheels? I'm thinking of aluminum wheels and I have seen ratings of 2200 and 3000 per wheel, but I don't know what's needed. I don't carry that much on the truck but I have an 8800 GVW and don't want to detract from the trucks ability if possible.
As far as tires go, I have seen 16" wheels on a 1500, with the same size tires as mine, 246/75-16's. I think my tires are heavier duty than the 1500's, but I don't know how to tell. Someone told me load rating, but I looked on that 1500 again and his load rating is the same as mine, "E". ???
Thanks,
Chris

Re:Wheel And Tire Requirements?
If you tow or want to be safe, go with 3000+ rims. Most of the "D" load range tires start out at about 3000#'s.
