What turbo to use?!
I was wondering what would be the best direct bolt on turbo. I have a single stock turbo setup and don't want to get crazy with twins. I want more power and better mileage. Does anyone know what would be best. I'm also new to the cummins engine and like to do my own work so the simplest do-it-yourself install is at the top of my list. Thanks...

Now fill in your signature so we know what truck your driving.
A turbo won't help much. You should look at a box, Edge EZ or Juice with Attitude. But you should get gauges first, at least a fuel pressure gauge.

I replaced my BLOWN sotck turbo with a PDR HX40. I like it so far.. It is a tad to big for just the 300 Bosch injectors alone. But once i turn the quadzilla on it spools a bit faster and seems to work more economicaly... Only problem with mine is they dont like 40+ PSI.... which is ok for me...

You sure may want to get a set of guages or an in-cab monitor so at the very least you can watch your fuel pressure. After you have monitoring capabilities then you have a grundle of fueling mods to choose from. The ones I have tried are the Edge EZ, Edge Comp, Edge Juice, Smarty, and now Quadzilla Adrenaline. I have liked them all, but the Juice with Attitude was probably my favorite. After you have put some fueling modifications on, you may want to grab a boost elbow for your turbo. This is an elbow with a smaller orifice in it that makes the turbo build more boost before the wastegate can open. As far as a turbo goes, the other guys are right. Until you start eclipsing the 350-400 rear wheel hp range I don't think you are going to find that a turbo is a good way to spend your money and may even decrease the performance of the truck. Without more fuel you can't drive a bigger turbo. I would start with some fuel mods. You will find you want more and more and then you will see that the time may come that a turbo to match your fueling is needed.
