When to use the turbo cool down timer

My truck came with a turbo cool down timer when I bought it. I was curious when it is supposed to be used. After a long haul, or with a heavy trailer? or the other extreme, anytime after any drive of any distance? Thanks.

If you have gauges, use it anytime you want to leave the truck but the pyro is still above 300*F, pre-turbo. There are those that have never cooled down and have had no problems over many thousands of miles. My pyro is post turbo. I wait till it drops below the 300 mark, then shut her down. I'd use the timer on every shutdown if I could, but that $$ is earmarked for hybrid turbo parts (mmm, HTT stage IV ) so for now I just wait. It's the best kind of insurance, IMHO---FREE!!

Cool, that makes that easy. Thanks. BTW, pyro and boost gauges are on the way (supposedly I'm getting them from my wife for the ol' birthday...)!
